Guideline for the Design of Seismic Isolation Systems for Buildings

The current New Zealand Building code does not provide adequate guidance for the design of isolated structures. Creating a guideline document gave New Zealand the opportunity to stand out at the forefront of seismic engineering. This document is now out as a draft for trial use.

The guideline is intended for use by engineering practitioners and is likely to be cited by NZ Building Code in the future. It provides consistency and efficiency in the design and specification of these systems to meet defined performance levels consistent with New Zealand loading and materials standards.
